  My grandson and I have fished Port Phillip Bay for quite a few years, we usually take home a good feed of Flatties and the odd Whiting. Although we have always wanted to land a decent Snapper or two lack of experience regarding locations, technique, tides etc. have meant that the bigger Snapper have eluded us. We decided that the best way to learn, and to have some fun at the same time, was to book an outing with Joe Farr Fishing Charters.
  
  We had been out with Joe a few years previously, on that occasion his knowledge of the Bay combined with his fishing methods resulted in a great day where we bagged several good sized Flathead and Whiting, all with a minimum of fuss and in a very comfortable and safe boat.
  
  So for our recent outing on the Snapper Joe suggested a few dates in December when the tides and moon phase would be favourable, we settled on the date and headed out early, my Nephew decided to join us and the hope was that we would each land a decent Snapper. Joe headed straight to one of his marks and set each of us up with his preferred rig and bait, this was followed by laying the all important berley. We sat on the mark for about two hours with nothing much happening (I would have given up long ago!) then suddenly my Grandson had a hit, although he struggled at times with the fighting fish Joe quietly coached him to the point when the Snapper could be netted. Over the next 10-15 minutes my Nephew and I each landed a similar size Snapper, then as quickly as they had come on the bite the action stopped.
  
  Joe achieved what we had hoped for and as a bonus he put us on to a few big Flatties on the way back to the marina. I would not hesitate to recommend Joe Farr to anybody looking for a great day out on the water, he really knows his stuff.

  went out with joe a couple of years ago ,joe and he,s deckhands knowledge of the bay ,the fish and their habits were incredible,had an awsome day catching everything joe said we would,have now booked another charter for late dec. to chase snapper let you know ho we go.
